Hey Team Blue…I’ve experienced another one of those “techno farts”… and maybe in this case it’s a good thing. Let me back up a sec. After our poor showing at San Vicente, I came home and wrote a flaming re-cap and review of San Vicente golf course which of course(no pun intended) I blamed for the sub par (damn another pun!) performance of team Blue. But both team’s had to play those conditions and the SV team was more familiar with the conditions and that’s why they call hit the home advantage. (We do the same at TO). As a FYI if you are interested in journeying out to Ramona and playing SV be warned that although the recent renovations of the golf course were needed and in the long run will be great, right now the greens in a word “SUCK”. Ultra hard(I didn’t see one ball mark on any of the 18 greens!), over contoured and a nightmare to figure out. You couldn’t fly the ball to the greens. Everyone of our good approach shots in the air to the green bounced like it hit a cart path and rolled off the back. The SV players figured out how to hit all approach shots short and roll up to the flags. I’m a slow learner and it wasn’t until the 19th hole that I learned how to play this course…an ice cold drink after golf brings a certain clarity to the situation!
Enough of the rambling. You can see for yourself by looking at the scorecard below that our entire team was off our normal stellar performances!
