Match 12A Home vs St Marks Win 11-7

So much like the Padres, Team Blue is desperately trying to finish the season on a positive result…unlike the Pads we won today beating our neighbors St Mark 11-7!!! It was hot and humid and thanks to one individual on the opposing team A a five hour round! TO’s head pro Travis was hot under the collar (and we heard about it) for the slow play - three holes behind! Val and Jeff did everything they could to speed this guy up but to no avail. The sweet revenge is they took five points from them after splitting the front and getting the win on the 18th hole. Competitive match! Good job Val and Jeff!
Team B of Bob Hogan and Dave Mulgrew were competitive but couldn’t convert on some golden opportunities. Of course, what didn’t help team Blue was one of the San Marcos opponents shot a 37 on the front and a 42 on back (with a 9 on 18!).John could really hit the ball averaging 250-260 off the tee and hitting most approach shots within ten feet. It was fun to watch a “real” golfer…too bad he was our opponent! I know one thing Bob and I didn’t get enough strokes!!!
Team C of Manley Bland and Tom Stamos took care of business and easily handled their opposition and won all 6 points! Congratulations Manley and Tom!
We are playing our return match a week from Wed at St Marks…we’ll be trying for the very rare two match sweep!
